Day at the Food Bank

Volunteers are needed to sort and package food at the Orange County Food Bank in Garden Grove for about 2 ½ hours. Volunteers can take on a variety of tasks, including making boxes, placing food items in the boxes, taping the boxes, lifting heavy boxes, and sorting food. Casual attire (jeans, sweatsuits, etc.) is recommended. Do not wear sandals and you may want to bring gloves.

The mission of Community Action Partnership of Orange County Food Bank (CAPOC) is to: “enhance the quality of life in Orange County by eliminating and preventing the causes and effects of poverty by mobilizing and directing resources to programs that assist, educate and promote self-sufficiency.” In support of this mission, the Orange County Food Bank supports many vital CAPOC programs, including the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), Food Stamp Outreach, and Farm 2 Kids
