Community Associations Advocacy Network (CAAN)
Community Associations Advocacy Network (CAAN) is a nationally organized team of community association homeowners and professionals who are willing to communicate with their legislators and other elected and appointed officials. CAAN members educate government officials about community association concerns through letters, phone calls and personal visits. CAAN members form a "first alert network" to provide input on breaking issues and enhance CAI's ability to effectively influence the formulation and outcome of public policy.
Why Join CAI's CAAN?
Whether you are a community association homeowner or professional, your quality of life is directly impacted by laws and regulations - and community associations today are facing more legislative and regulatory issues and challenges than ever before. Shaping the way our laws and regulations are made takes the dedication and concerned efforts of individuals knowledgeable about all aspects of community living and association operations and governance. By joining with others, you will be instrumental in helping to support, oppose, or tailor legislative and regulatory proposals to best suit the interests of community associations. As a CAAN member, you will receive summaries, talking points and sample letters, and will be briefed on the best way to communicate CAI's message. CAI's Government and Public Affairs Department will be available to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
Who Should Join?
Community Associations board members, homeowners, professionals and service providers should participate in CAAN. Membership is free to all CAI members as well as residents or employees of CAI member associations, companies and firms.
