CAI - Orange County Regional Chapter offers the only comprehensive training courses available to elected community association leaders. Our faculty has decades of experience in all aspects of the industry. The knowledge you gain from these in-depth courses will assist you in excelling in your leadership role in your community.

Presented by Community Associations Institute Orange County Regional Chapter, the Community Leadership Training Program offers pertinent educational materials to community association board members, committee chairs and other key figures in association leadership and management. Specifically geared to the leadership of HOAs, these courses will provide in-depth discussion and up-to-date information on the topics that are critical to your successful operation.

Our experienced Faculty will lead you through key issues of association management in seven separate sessions lasting 2 1/2 hours each. Attend one or all...the choice is yours!

1.  COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION LAW

CAI-Orange County attorney members will be focusing on elements of proper CC&R and rules enforcement, important cases, and changes in current laws.  (To fully participate, bring a copy of the California Civil Code or purchase a Condo Bluebook at the seminar).


2.  COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP & RUNNING THE “PERFECT” BOARD MEETING

Discussions focusing on communicating with your homeowners, how to interact with management as a board member, how to form committees and the importance of committees in the association. A look into board of directors meeting - what to look for in your board packet, and who does what.

 

3.  COMMUNITY MAINTENANCE, CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS AND BIDDING

Maintenance responsibilities focusing on contract’s, bidding requirement - timely and critical topics for boards and community managers.

4.  UNDERSTANDING YOUR COMMUNITY FINANCIALS, RESERVES & INVESTMENTS

Topics include practical financial statement interpretation, association budgeting, reserve studies and funding, year-end audits, investment options, income taxes, and collection procedures.

5.  COMMUNITY INSURANCE FUNDIMENTALS

Focusing on association insurance requirements. Topics include property coverage’s, application of deductible, liability, embezzlement coverage and workers compensation.   

6.  ANNUAL MEETINGS AND ELECTIONS

A brief overview of elections, legal documents and many more subjects that all board members and managers need to know to help them succeed. Acquire comprehensive step-by-step information on preparing for and conducting annual meetings & elections.
